Health and Fitness: The Myth of the "Fat Burning"

When people decide it’s time to drop some weight, or lean out, the first thought is to start putting in time with cardio – the longer, the better.  Unfortunately, this is probably the least effective way (particularly from a time management standpoint), to really “fire up the furnace”. First and foremost, you need to eat properly (as Craig Ballentyne has said, “You can’t out-train a bad diet”), but secondly – start doing some weight training!  Building lean muscle through a well designed strength-training program increases the amount of calories you need to utilize throughout the day, thereby improving the efficiency of your “fat burning engine”.  At the same time, it can improve your strength, posture, balance, stability and flexibility.  With so many upsides – why wouldn’t you try to find a way to fit it into your day? ....................
