The Romax Steel-R is our evolution of the classic Brodie rodie, updated with Columbus THRON tubing. And even though there is room for tires sized up to 700 x 42c or even 650 x 50b depending on the tire, the Romax Steel-R sticks to its ‘road bike’ roots. Thus evolving into the perfect ‘modern’ classic road bike.

Don’t let the ‘rodie’ part fool you into thinking this is just a road bike. This bike is perfectly capably on gravel, on trails, and cyclocross or even crossing the country adventure touring.

The Romax Steel-R is Brodie’s Columbus THRON Tubing Adventure Road Bike, a do anything go anywhere one quiver bike. Versatility, safety and comfort opening up the ability to explore the destinations less traveled. Road touring or Gravel Adventure, choose your own path wherever it takes you. The Romax is for performance seeking adventurers who love smooth fast road rides, long gravel rides or dirt track touring.

The Romax Steel-R has race bred geometry in an all-season, all-roads platform. It comes equipped with higher volume 32c all-road tires with room for fenders.  A Shimano Ultegra drivetrain paired with a GRX Rear clutched rear derailleur and classic road compact gearing with a 1:1 gear ratio come standard.

Combined with the stopping power of Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes, you can conquer a Pacific Northwest winter, or ride an Ontario Spring Classic. From pavement to pavé, don’t stop just because the road does.

The Romax Steel-R comes equipped with WTB Expanse TCS Light, 700x32c mounted onto Alex rims A-Class RXD-3 Tubeless Ready wheel-set . This bike is fast; the 32c tires are light and fast, yet add stability and traction for some off road touring.

Shimano Ultegra 2X with GRX Clutched Drivetrain

The classic, best bang for your buck, Shimano Ultegra 2 X 11 drivetrain was designed for all day comfort with exceptional shifting and braking, road ergonomics with optimized gearing and unprecedented reliability.

The Shimano GRX-800 Clutched Adventure Rear derailleur keeps your chain secure and quiet, reducing shifting effort and chain slap. The compact Road crankset with 50/34T chainrings paired with an 11-34T 11-speed cassette gives you an evenly spaced full range of gearing for everything from fast gravel or road rides with a 1:1 ratio to tackle any hill on any terrain. Shimano Ultegra shifters / brake levers are precise and powerful and have all day comfort on the hoods and offer light, precise control and stability.

Columbus THRON Steel Frame, Full Carbon Fork

The Romax Steel-R has the sublime and super covetable Columbus THRON tubing, w/ ØD14mm Heat treated Seat Stays built for maximum strength and superb ride quality. The frame will accommodate 42-50c in a 650b wheel, or up to a 40c with 700c wheels. This Romax Steel-R is the perfect fit for performance seeking adventurers who love smooth, fast roads as much as they crave gravel & dirt.

Capable geometry matched with a lighter Carbon Fork in a tapered head tube and a front Thru Axle, all for added stiffness and performance yet comes with triple cage mounts on each fork leg for added versatility. The frame is fender and rack ready so you can turn this into your all weather daily commuter or load it up into your weekend bike-packing adventure machine.
