Mike Freda Completes Day 2 of Paul Brodies’ Frame Building 101
Day 2 Completed - Reviewed some topics from Day 1 - Finished mitring my Mini Test Frame - Tacked Test Frame - Finished sanding and polishing my practice fillet braze joint - Talked bike and more bikes... - Finished TIG welding my Mini Test Frame - Designed/Drafted special rear drop outs for my frame. Paul talked about how to machine them. - Derek started on his full size bike design: a 29er, Non front suspension/corrected frame, arced TT, fillet brazed. (This will be a COOL bike when it's done!) - Started planing my frame: a CoMo, TIG welded Freeride frame for 140-150mm forks, sloping Top Tube, special rear drop-out (Single speed or derailer) large OD down tube. - Mitred and TIG welded a head tube and top tube to see what it takes to break it! YEAH. (Do that on Day 3)
The course is very hands on with short "How-To" demos from Paul. The day just flew by again... does not feel like school at all!
