Vancouver Cyclocross Coalition

Cyclocross has been a part of our offerings since the early 2000's and our line has quickly expanded. Cyclocross is near and dear to our hearts here at Brodie. With employees that race, organize and generally get out for a rip, we wanted to produce a cyclocross lineup that captured that spirit.

For the 2016 season, we'll have 5 different models to choose from whether you're looking for an affordable price point or a lifetime heirloom titanium steed. Pictured below is a sneak peak of the 2016 special edition Romax Single Speed CX.

Want to learn more about CX and the local scene in Vancouver, BC, check out the Vancouver Cyclocross Coalition put on by our very own sales representative Matt Hornland and partners:

The VCXC is a partnership of racers, organizers and professionals who all love cyclocross. Vancouver has had a small, but dedicated, cyclocross scene for almost 5 decades. Grassroots, dependent on each organizer to pull weight alone, and a series that had some disconnects. Our mission is to change that, to pool the efforts of individual organizers and venues, and create a larger following, a stronger series, competitive events and more importantly, a way more kickass experience for all. We want everyone to have fun, enjoy the competition, and test their skills and friends.

We’re here to make your life muddy.

What is Cyclocross? Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocrossCXCCXcyclo-X or ‍ 'cross) is a form of bicycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter (the international or "World Cup" season is October–February), and consist of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5  km or 1.5–2  mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount. Races for senior categories are generally between 30 minutes and an hour long, with the distance varying depending on the ground conditions. The sport is strongest in the traditional road cycling countries such as Belgium (Flanders in particular), France and the Netherlands.
